Tiffin Box
Tiffin box is the most child hood possession and the best motivation to go to school.
I waited in anticipation
for the interval bell to ring
for the interval bell to ring
Then ran below the tree
And ate my tiffin like a king.
When I would open my tiffin
I would find a surprise
My mother would pack a toffee
hidden below the bread in disguise.
When I went back home
Mother would open and see
And if I had finished the tiffin
Her face would lit with glee.
Tiffin came in all sizes
Some in plastic some in steel
Sharing my tiffin with friends
Some times I got a good deal.
Tiffin was not just a meal
It was wrapped with love and care
sitting below the tree with friends
It was our bond that we would share.
