We are the product of past

We don't have to be prisoners of it

Living in the past 

Is like living in a dark pit. 

Sooner or later

We have to let go of the past

Leaving behind the luggage

We can travel in future fast.

The past is a ghost

Future is a dream 

What we have is today

Which will flow away like a stream

Past is a stepping stone

And not a mile stone 

As you carry the burden 

You are all alone.

Looking at the rear view mirror

You cannot win the race 

Now is a gift, called the present

we become prisoner s of past, spending most times on pain, suffering and regrets. It doesnt have any effect on the present and and the future, in fact it mars the present and the future, so better to let go with eyes looking in the front. Rather than looking at rear view mirror.
